Discover the non-profit difference. One mission guides all our operations.
We are caring, trustworthy and respectful while enriching the lives of those who serve as well as those served.
There are major differences in the motivation and the mission of the not-for-profit versus the for-profit facilities. Each has its benefits and its liabilities; however, it is important for you to discover those differences and to make an informed decision as to where your needs would be best served.

Redwood Senior Homes and Services is a not-for-profit, 501c-3 corporation owned and managed by Southern California Presbyterian Homes, which is also a not-for-profit management company based in Glendale, CA. SCPH has a nearly 50-year history of successfully managing numerous continuing care retirement communities, assisted living, nursing homes, day care, home care, and affordable housing facilities.

The distinction that is important is that these communities are dedicated to a common mission that is the foundation of its operations, management style, and resident services and communication. This mission guides the daily actions and decisions of each community:

Mission Statement "Southern California Presbyterian Homes is committed to provide housing and support services, primarily for older adults, to enhance the physical, social, and spiritual dimensions of their lives. Southern California Presbyterian Homes is also committed to being a resource for the communities in which it operates."

The management style that is derived from the mission allows for open and honest dialogue between residents and staff so that mutual concerns, conflicts, and constructive change can be accomplished with a common purpose.

There is an added benefit in that the not-for-profit continuing care retirement communities have a history of providing for the changing needs of their residents at a significantly lower cost over the lifetime of the individual residents. There are also some tax benefits to consider.

You are urged to take into consideration how the not-for-profit continuum of care makes good sense and aligns you with other residents and staff who are dedicated to a life of service within their communities.

We strive to provide health care services according to the following core values:
Adaptability - We encourage change and flexibility decision making in a safe environment that allows for creativity and innovation.
